It took me exactly one year to lose the 30 lbs I gained the first time I was pregnant. It makes sense. I rarely limit my food intake. (Ha...if you just had a visual that was not very appealing to the eye, that's not what I mean....) I think that I, generally, eat healthy foods. At a party, however, I'm going to have dessert....and a little ice cream (most nights during the week.) That's what I mean. Anywho - I didn't start working out until about 9 months after giving birth. So losing the weight in 1 year made sense to me. This time, I thought I'd lose it much faster. (I gained 40 this time. Yay.) Welllll, that is the case....a little bit. I spent a whole lot of my life "dieting" and watching pretty much all of my relatives diet, so I refuse to officially "diet" anymore. I'd rather workout. Actually doing it would be great!
In comes my "Behavior Intervention Plan." This was a project we did in one of my special ed classes in college. The purpose was to prepare us for planning and executing BIP's on actual students, but we did the project on ourselves instead. I chose to put myself on a regular workout schedule. Guess what - it worked!....started out slow...running 3 days/week. The next thing I knew, I was like an official runner. I ran on the weekend....in the rain..in the snow....on holidays...it was crazy! Now I figure - if I did it then, I should be able to do it again!
This week's goal: Run 3 times!
Monday - done.
We'll see about the rest. (.....but it's on my calendar with pretty little boxes I get to color in if I run. Of course it will work!)
Good luck! :) I believe in you!
