I really do try to be mindfully grateful for every aspect of my life, everyday. So, when I find myself complaining or getting frustrated about the various events life brings, I need to put a positive twist on things so that I am aware of the multitude of blessings that surround us....because sometimes they might appear to be disguised. Here are a few examples, but I know there are more than I am forgetting:
1. Cleaning up a rediculous amount of toys every single day. We are lucky to have these toys for our children to play with.
2. Sacrificing my dining room to "Toyland." Again, we are lucky to have a roller coaster, walk-in kitchen, and montrous rocking horse (along with the regular toys) for them to play with.
3. Doing laundry. We are lucky to be able to do laundry in our own home.
4. Addison climbing on the coffee table, sofa arm rests, etc. I am thankful that she is healthy enough and physically able to do these things...
5. Waking up between 5am-7am everyday. I get to wake up this early and spend the whole day with my babies. I don't have to wake up at this time to leave for work everyday.
6. Rushing to get dinner cooked every night. We have food for me to cook.
7. Paying the mortgage every month. We have our own mortgage to pay every month.
8. My (almost) deflated pregnant belly. I was lucky to have a baby in there (twice).
9. My (always) messy car. I have a car to put a mess in.
10. Our mess-filled basement. We have storage space. We have "stuff."
11. Driving 1 hour, or more, for any of my side-of-the-family functions. I have family to visit.
That's all I can think of for now, but I know there are more. My goal is to, during one of my stress-related episods, stop and think about life in this way.
