Amy does the thing I've often read about in books but didn't believe that it happened with real-life babies...."Put baby in crib drowsy but awake..... let baby teach herself to fall asleep." I never believed this was a possibility. Guess what: AMY DOES IT! She amazes me every single time I put her in there while she's completely awake and "talking" to me, then check back 5 minutes later to find her sleeping.
Oh! Also...when she wakes up, I often don't even realize she's awake for a while. She just lies in her crib and "talks" to the things around her. When I come in to get her, she kicks her legs like a crazy person and starts laughing and smiling!!
Thank you, Amy, for being the jolliest baby I've ever met. I hope that I don't do anything to alter your temperament!
(Disclosure: I feel as though I can openly brag about Amy because Addison was/is not a great sleeper. She does take a 2-hour nap each day and sleep through the night (most nights)...but it took a HUGE amount of work to get to this point!)
