Slacking in the Sippy Cup Department

Amy might be slacking in the sippy cup department. Even though "they" say not to compare children, I think back to what I was doing with Addy at each developmental stage to gauge what I could/should be doing with Amy. In my mind, Amy is still my tiny, brand new baby. Well, #1, she is not tiny anymore. She weighs almost as much as Addy. #2, she's 9 months old. (almost.) WHOA!! When did that happen?!?! Time has flown by so quickly that I often lose track of the milestones I could be helping her reach. It has finally sunk in that Amy needs to be fully capable of drinking from a sippy cup in 3 months. (This is according to my standards and the pediatrician's strong recommendation. Many people don't worry so much about this guideline, but my theory is... if the doctor suggests it, I do it! Plus, I refuse to have a young toddler walking around with a bottle.) Easier said than done. I just recently started giving it to her, but she pushes it away. I leisurely took 4 or 5 months to let Addy become acquainted with sippy cups. I have much less time with Amy. Holy smokes - the pressure is on! (We will succeed!!!!!)
