Until the past few weeks, I found it extremely difficult to do anything but parent my children. I got so proud of myself if we were all dressed AND I did a load of laundry. And then I realized something. Even though I may only be home with these amazing little babies of mine for one year, this is my job now. As a teacher, I wouldn't pride myself on the fact that I could write one mediocre objective. It was my job to write complete and thorough lesson plans, regularly. So, I decided that I need to become better at my new job. I've always enjoyed the "Leave it to Beaver" way of life, but growing up, mine was far from that. I'm pretty sure, however, that my husband grew up in a household that was very much "Leave it to Beaver"-like....(of which I'm a little jealous.) SO, I decided that it is my new mission to have the house clean (or an acceptable portion) and dinner on the table when Bob gets home from work. I figure - if he can work everyday so that we can *pretty much* afford life while I stay home, he deserves to not have to do much when he comes home.....so far, it's been going well. (Although, I did start writing this post 3 days ago, and I've just finished it!!)
Who knows....I may even start dressing like this.....

haha! :)
ReplyDeleteI think Bob would get a kick out of it if he came home and you were wearing that.
I'm glad you're enjoying staying at home! I can't wait to see you guys!!
Way to go! Having a clean house always makes you feel so much better in the evenings as well!
