Birthday Party Madness

It's starting again. Birthday Party planning!!! :) :) :) :) :) I started thinking about Addison's First Birthday party when she was about 6 months old. Amy just turned 9 months, and I totally panicked when I realized that her birthday is only three months away. SO.... I started to think...I got a few ideas...and then the snowball effect began........

And I present to you....AMY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY LUAU!!!!!!!

Here are some of the key players...

I know. Completely unnecessary. But, my baby only turns one once, so I might as well deliver "message in a bottle" invites to her cousins and little friends, right??

Over-the-top, you say??!!?? Noooo. Perfect for a 1st birthday luau is what you meant?!?! Exactly! I actually am not going to order this one. I am going to embrace my creative skills (and my mother's knowledge of the sewing machine) and make Amy a dress similar to this all on my own!!! :-) She will only wear it for a little while. She will also have a Hawaiian-themed bathing suit, as well has a Hawaiian-themed cake-eating outfit. (Mommy, Daddy, and Addison will also be dressed in coordinating outfits. Lucky for me, Bob's a really nice "go-with-the-flow" husband.)

If you're freaked out, don't be. It's DELICIOUS! and it TOTALLY goes along with our theme! (We will not be cooking this ourselves, of course. There is a place in South Phila that cooks them
up nice and tasty for all!)

Well, we had a Princess Castle Moon bounce in the backyard for Addy's First Birthday. It's no surprise that we'd get a giant blow-up thing for Amy's. And who wants to get sweaty in a hot moon bounce at the end of July?!?! No one. They would rather slide down a WATER SLIDE in my backyard...complete with a PALM TREE to match our theme!!!
I am in love with this cake, so I will DEFINITELY be making it (without the Dora the Explorer figurines. We already did that party!) However, make no mistake. This will NOT be the only cake. The wheels are still in motion, but, so far I'm thinking....Palm Tree Rice Krispie treat cake, cupcakes on "flip-flop feet stands!", of course Amy's cake... which will have some sort of Hawaiian theme and will most likely be made of a nutritious baby recipe.
I'm still not sure on what to give for the kiddies party treats. Of course they will have a Hawaiian theme and will most likely have name tags...maybe in the shape of Hibiscus flowers? Leis & grass skirts for all. Oh, this will be FANTASTIC! I really <3 party planning!!!!!!!

(PS. I really am sorry for the horrible organization of this post. Pictures were entering all over the place, and I really was too tired to line it all up nicely!)
